Personal requirements and student profiles

Access to full-year or term exchange programs in Ireland requires meeting certain basic conditions regarding age, language proficiency, and emotional maturity:

Age: The program is designed for students between 12 and 18 years old.
English level: An advanced level is not required, but a minimum knowledge equivalent to A2 (preferably B1) is required to facilitate adaptation and daily communication.
Academic record: A good academic record is required. Although excellence is not demanded, displaying a positive attitude and a commitment to your studies is essential.

Essential documentation for traveling and enrolling

Before departure, gathering documents is crucial to ensure a safe trip and smooth school enrollment:

Passport: It must be valid for at least one year from the start date of the trip.
Travel permit: Signed parental authorization for minors.
Medical documentation: European Health Insurance Card and private medical insurance policy with international coverage. If taking regular medication, a medical prescription translated into English must be carried.
Academic record: Translated grade certificates from previous years for formalizing school enrollment in Ireland.

Academic requirements and subjects for validation in Spain

One of the most important aspects is ensuring that the course taken in Ireland is officially recognized by the Ministry of Education in Spain. Validation requirements vary depending on the educational level:

1.º of Bachillerato	5th Year (Senior Cycle)	Mandatory validation. Complete and pass a minimum of 6 academic subjects.
2.º of Bachillerato	6th Year (Senior Cycle)	Mandatory accreditation (homologation). Complete the full year and pass the official Certificate, passing at least 2 subjects at Higher Level (H1-H5). Higher Level (H1-H5).

Note on short stays: Academic terms or semesters up to 3rd year of ESO are automatically recognized. However, from 4th year of ESO (Transition Year and Senior Cycle) onwards, only full academic years are validated; terms or semesters cannot be validated in Spain.
