The Transition Year (TY) is an exclusive program of the Irish educational system, designed for students between 14 and 16 years old (equivalent to 4º de la ESO in Spain).

Unlike the traditional academic curriculum, TY allows students to explore their interests and develop key social, personal, and professional skills. Through a combination of academic classes, practical workshops, and work experience, this program fosters maturity, creativity, and a sense of responsibility.

Much more than a trip: Return with a Cambridge certification

All our programs include a complete preparation course for official Cambridge exams, covering levels from B1 to C2.

What better time to earn your qualification than during a total linguistic immersion? You will be practicing English 24/7: at school, with your host family, and with your new friends. Obtaining your Cambridge certificate while living in Ireland is not just an academic achievement; it is your golden ticket to opening the best doors for your university and professional future.

Hassle-free validation, your school year recognized

Studying in Ireland is a secure investment for your academic record. The courses are 100% validatable and recognized in Spain, allowing you to enjoy an international education without interrupting your school trajectory.

Junior Cycle (7th to 9th Grade / 1º a 3º of ESO)

If you are enrolled in any of these years, you do not need to go through complex accreditation procedures upon your return. These courses are automatically recognized within the Spanish system. Your only mission is to enjoy and make the most of your educational immersion.

Transition Year and Senior Cycle (10th to 12th Grade / 4º ESO to 2º Bachillerato)

For 4º de la ESO, 1º and 2º de Bachillerato courses, the validation process requires official management. At My Language Quest we take care of all the paperwork for you, ensuring that your year in Ireland is legally recognized in Spain.

Important note: For short-term programs (terms or semesters), it is not necessary to carry out validation procedures, as the evaluation is integrated directly into your home school. We will guide you every step of the way!

Frequently Asked Questions about studying in the United States

We answer the most common questions before contacting you

What real benefits does a student gain from doing a school year in Ireland?

In addition to achieving natural fluency in English, the student undergoes an accelerated maturity process. They develop critical skills such as autonomy, resilience, and emotional intelligence. Total immersion with a host family and life in an Irish school provide them with an academic competitive advantage and a global vision that will serve them for a lifetime.

That's right, we offer total flexibility: you can choose between a term, a semester, or a full school year. Even a short-term stay has a transformative impact on the student's confidence with the language and their personal growth, always adapting to the needs of each family.

Both systems share the high quality of the Irish curriculum. The main difference lies in the fact that private (or fee-paying) schools often offer more extensive sports and arts facilities, as well as smaller class groups. At My Language Quest, we analyze the student's profile and the family budget to recommend the institution that best fits their expectations.

The placement process is completely personalized. We consider your lifestyle preferences, interests, and medical or dietary needs (such as allergies). You can indicate if you prefer a home with children, no pets, or any other particularity; our goal is to achieve the perfect "match" so that you feel at home from day one.

The student's well-being is our absolute priority. We have a team of local coordinators who provide constant support. If any challenge arises, we intervene immediately by offering emotional support, mediation at school or, if the situation requires it, managing a change of family.

Studying in Ireland is a differentiating factor. It demonstrates maturity, adaptability, and a bilingual command of English—qualities that universities and companies value above average. It is an investment that positions the student with a clear competitive advantage in a globalized labor market.

Ireland is consistently chosen as one of the safest and most welcoming countries in the world. Our network is composed of verified families and top-tier schools. Furthermore, we maintain up-to-date health, well-being, and communication protocols with families from day one.

Yes. We accompany the student throughout the entire process to ensure they take equivalent subjects, and we gather the necessary documentation to guarantee the official validation of the school year according to the educational regulations of your country. It is important to note that only full courses from 4º de ESO to 2º de Bachillerato are validated. Term or semester stays do not require official validation, as the student re-enrolls directly into their course back home.
